ABOUT

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, raised in midtown Kansas City MO, Mia is the only child born to James and Val  Jean Easterling. Raised by her grandparents, William and Callie Robinson, after the fatal automotive accident of her mother at the age of 15, she excelled in school, graduating with honors from Bishop Hogan High School. She continued her study of Communications/Public Relations at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View TX, and the University of Missouri-Columbia and Kansas City campuses. 
 
Mia is the proud wife to Derrell Ramsey of 25 years and mother to their 2 daughters, Taylor and Sydney.  She is a Minister of Music and Elder, ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ at Kingdom Word Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Eric D. and Pastor Regina Morrison.
 
Mia serves as the proud Executive Director of  The Kansas City Boys and The Kansas City Girls Choirs, non-profit youth organization.  She is the founder, lead singer and recording artist with the Christian Soul band, Soul Serenade, Mia has been blessed to share the stage with Grammy award winning Gospel, Jazz and Literary greats along with hosting numerous events and her own morning talk radio show, Real Talk with Mia Ramsey.  An entrepreneur at heart, she is the Co-Owner of JWEAR Apparel and Accessories, Sisters of Substance (S.O.S.) Women's Empowerment Group and Co-Founder of 2 Peas in a Pod Branding and Public Relations Company.  
 
Always preparing for the next God-venture, Mia has just released her first book, 'OUT OF THE HARD PLACE- 50 Things I've Learned In 50 Years', this year.   As she prepares to begin her book tour, Mia continues to speak, unapologetically, about growing through trials and challenges every chance she gets.  Wherever God leads, she is willing to follow.
